Proton Exora - 4 Star ANCAP Rating..
One of the interesting topics that I think on yesterday is regarding the achievement by Proton Exora in ANCAP crash test. It achieve four star rating on this crash test. As for me, it is indeed a good achievement for Proton as this Product was already been launched in 2009.
However, Australian's Exora does have more safety features compared to the Malaysian version. The Australian version is having two more airbags as well as the ESC. Therefore in a side crash test, the Malaysian version is absolutely cant perform as good as the Australian version's Exora. Hopefully, Proton could equipped our Exora with more airbags as well as the ESC too in the future.
For more information,
ANCAP - EXORA RATING

P/s Exora is indeed a very good car for a family. Although there are still some realibility issue especially on minor issue, it is still a very good all-round criteria. Good performance by the CFE engine, impressive handling and at a competitive price. Starting from 69 k for CFE standard up until 80k for the premium version. Btw Good Job Proton for this achievement. :)

Malaysia's Jazz Hybrid
Assalamualaikum wrt..
I read about the Jazz Hybrid from Paultan yesterday...
Such a brilliant idea from Honda Malaysia in producing more affordable price of Jazz Hybrid.*sarcasm*:)
A CBU from Japan came with a price at RM 94.8 k while this CKD version costs at RM 89.9 k.However this RM 4.9 k different can get you rear disc brake, 4 more airbags, hill start assist, auto cruise, shift paddle, automatic wiper and few others more..
Hmmm, it seems CBU car is much more value for money!
Owh yes, here is the link from Paultan page.

Cheap car prices in Malaysia
Assalamualaikum and good afternoon.
Found this link quite long time ago..
http://beritasemasa.com/harga-kereta-mm2h-malaysia
But since reduction of car price is quite a hot topic, this link could help give indication of the car OTR prices without taxes..( Most of the cars in the table are filled based on old prices since it was not updated but it can be ensure that the prices follow the current tax calculation based on updated rate in 2006)
It can be seen certain brands like Mercedes and BMW are still on the high side / premium prices. But lets have a look on something common like Toyota Vios. Without all the taxes, a 1.5 G version is selling at 55k compare the taxed prices which is around 84k+..A quick search to the mm2h price for current Honda city E Spec shows it is priced at 62k compared to 90k with taxes included.
Much more affordable I think!
How about the national car prices? With the current prices, our national cars are also being taxed like other foreign brands. Based on the link, a Waja that was priced at 59k could be priced at 39k without all the taxes. With this indication, a Preve model is estimated a starting price of 40k compared to 59k+ with the current price and a myvi which is the best selling car in Malaysia could be priced at around 35k compared to 50k for the Premium Ezi. However, a quick search based on Langkawi car prices shows the saving would be only as much as 10k. This is still rather expensive! A quick search for Proton car's prices without VAT in UK however showed Savvy AMT could be price at GBP 7.1k..Therefore,the price shown in the list is not impossible..
Honestly, I am fully support for affordable car prices and I am believed that our national car maker could also be benefited with this.
Best regards,
Faiz

5 cars - Forte vs Inspira vs Preve vs Vios vs City
Assalamualaikum wbt and good morning..
I actually have posted in my facebook something regarding about the way of Malaysian getting / surveying a car..Normally people in Malaysia choose a car based on the car budget range and not between the same car segment which is kinda differs to UK or Europe car buyer / review. For example, Vios and City always been compared with Forte, Inspira and Forte as they are on the same budget range. But the truth, they are on different car segment.
Lower segment car - for better fuel economy, easy to drive and etc
------------------------
Higher segment car - for better performance, handling , comfort and etc
*****
I have been looking at the new 2013 Kia K3. It is totally amazing. I actually quite impressed with Korean car maker in catching up with the Japanese. Right now, I just only feel reliability is the only point or advantage of my consideration for the Japanese car maker since it is early to say about this on Korean cars. Else for value for money consideration, Korean is the best.

A creative and awesome advertisement by Volvo
Assalamualaikum and good morning,
Been watched an ads yesterday about the new Volkswagen Beetle. Basically it is something like a short story that is associated with the Beetle. Honestly, I think this ads is kind of ads that made just only to fulfill the task in associating with vw beetle..(Just my opinion)
Hopefully one day, our ads made would be more creative something like this video..
I just watched it just now after I check into my email which was sent by Autotrader this morning. At first, I thought the ballerina stunt was just an attempt to break the record while it is actually a video about the Volvo.( That email does not tell anything about the Volvo)
I know it came with a cost, but then why bother to do it if you cant give the best of it.
p/s But still, I cant wait to see the new Beetle..hehe

Faiz

Assalamualaikum and Good Morning,
It has been such a long time I do not post anything in this blog considering the time spend on my studies and my work before this. Been involved in Malaysian Society in UK and handling one of the event in UK had made the time spent on this blog becoming rather worst.
Since I am into the automotive interest before this, this blog was specially made to cope with my interest and addiction towards car. But then I thought, why do I need to make things specialised and complicated while there are ways to make things simple.
So here it is..
The comeback of this blog..Well, this blog is not going to tell just only about the cars, maybe some technology stuff, information, islamic things, and maybe about myself.
Keep coming to this blog..:)
Regards,
Faiz

Saga vs Myvi : Sub 40K hot seller
Assalamualaikum and Good Evening..
It is a very good day today and I would like to share about something that I like,I love n I love. The new Perodua Myvi just got launched a month ago n myb in a few days more, Proton would launch their upgraded Saga with new CVT transmission called Proton Saga FLX.Choices have become harder from day to day with more introduction of new models, it is indeed an advantage to the consumers but also give a headache when making a decision.
So,let me share a history a bit of both model before we take a zoom-zoom with it..
Perodua Myvi was first launched on May 2005..It then has become national best selling car for five consecutive years with averaging 8000 cars sold every month.Proton Saga was then launched on January 2008 and it is targeted to stop the controlling of market by the Perodua Myvi model but still Perodua Myvi wins hands down as the Saga was sold averaging only 6000 cars per month. The Myvi has its facelift on 2008 before having its replacement recently. While the Saga just had its facelift on the December 2010 and it is right now is the best seller car for a few month due to the low production of Myvi currently having. With the introduction of CVT transmission into its lineup, it is expected to be the best selling car due to the competitiveness of its pricing..
Well right now,let have a zoom-zoom with these model.
EXTERIOR
These are the pictures of Saga and Myvi with the front view. For me, the Saga still wins for the exterior design even the facelift made towards this model is a bit too much. For example, the tinier tail lamp and a bit weird style headlamp. But then, it is quite impressive to have a manufacturer doing this as most of them are cutting cost!
INTERIOR
In this section, the Myvi wins. The dashboard, the meter cluster of the Myvi since the first generation of it really looks nice and premium compared to Saga which is really dull. This can be seen from the picture..And one good thing of Myvi, it is really spacious inside even it is just a compact B-segment hatchback. But still, Saga is bigger due to it is a sedan.
LUGGAGE
Saga wins in this part due to it is a sedan while Myvi is a hatchback car. Saga has 419 liters of space in its boot while Myvi is 208 liters of space,17 liters less compared to the first generation Myvi.
Picture of Myvi and Saga boot
POWER
Having driving the Saga prefacelift and the old Myvi, all I can say Myvi will win in this part. The pick up of the Myvi feel responsive due to its lighter weight. But with the introduction of CVT transmission later,it will improve the current underpower problem having by the Saga. Anyway, this is specification of the engine of both car.
Myvi – K3-VE DOHC 16 Valve with DVVT
Power : 67 kW/ 91 hp at 6000rpm
Torque : 117 Nm at 4400rpm
Saga – Campro IAFM Four Cylinder, 16 Valve
Power : 70 kW/ 94 hp at 5750rpm
Torque : 120 Nm at 4000rpm
HANDLING
In this part, Saga cant be challenged by the Myvi as it has the DNA of Lotus Handling. Driving into a curvy road will be very much fun with the Saga compared to Myvi. Both car also has quite the same maximum speed which is around 160-170 km/h. However the way both cars handle during the high speed are different. Myvi will start shaking and swaying when going above 140 km/h while the Saga still can be handled even being driven around 160 km/h.
NVH AND COMFORT
What is NVH? It is actually about the noise, vibration and harshness. For the noise, having driving the old Myvi for quite a time, I do feel the noise insulation in Myvi is better compared to Saga. With the new replacement, it is expected to be better but I do think it will be not much different from the old model.
On the other hand, Saga is quite a comfy car due to its soft spring and a sedan. It is a good car for travelling back ‘balik kampung’ and even a city car. It handles quite good in uneven road compared to Myvi. Myvi is a good car but it is not really that comfy as it is quite bouncy especially when going along an uneven road and it becomes worst when doing a high speed driving.
FUEL CONSUMPTION
Myvi is a good city car as it has low fuel consumption compared to Saga. In real world driving in city, Myvi can achieve around 12-13 km per litre compared to Saga which is around 10-11 km per litre. The new Myvi is expected doing around the same figure( or a bit better) while the new Saga with CVT is expected to improve a bit its fuel consumption especially in city driving which the current model doing quite a bad job compared to others in this segment.

CONCLUSION
These are some of my opinion and sharing on two best seller car model in Malaysia. Both cars have their advantages and disadvantages and it depends on what you really want. Do you think the extra five thousands really worth to be invested for a Myvi or instead just settle down with the cheaper Saga. Remember, one car cannot satisfy all your needs. Some may need it to use in city, some may need to use it for travel, and some may just want a good fuel consumption.. Therefore, the choice is yours. Just make sure you make a decision that give you the best value of money.

WRM Quick Update…
Honestly, I still admiring the current Proton Waja look and design compared to Persona and Saga. It just that I feel it is more executive. I still remember when my father wanna buy a car at the end of the year 2000, the Waja just being launched and at that moment, the waiting list is already go up to six months..So, he settled down with Wira 1.5ℓ as the Wira 1.6ℓ has been discontinued..
Nwy the current Proton Waja is powered by CAMPRO CPS(Cam-Profile Switching)1.6 ℓ with 125 hp n 150 Nm…Price on the road is RM61888 for the manual and RM64888 for the automatic(*I think there is discount around 2k-4k for this model)…
This model is almost nearing its 10th years of production by this August…And Yes, there will be a replacement for this model..I still dun know whether they will maintain the name of the model or not coz there is internal contest ‘Namakan Proton Sedan’ among the Proton workers a few months ago..
So, lets check what is so special bout this model??
The new model will display the copy of version Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT but using the engine with a capacity of slightly smaller 1.8 ℓ. The price of this model is expected below RM80000…This model also is expected to be launch at the last quarter of the year(*myb in November)….
Nwy Exora Improved Version already been launched yesterday…N there is more goodies given which make it quite worth for the increase of RM1000…But if me,I would wait for Campro Turbo version…Just my 2 cents..hehe

present for us....
Starting by today, the price for petroleum products of RON 95, RON 97 and Diesel will increase by RM0.05.
So the RON95 => RM1.80 to RM1.85
RON97 => RM2.05 to RM2.10
Diesel=>RM1.70 to RM1.75
Luckily, the car that I always use still have 4/5 of fuel..N seriously, its not really worth if we fuel up for just an increase of RM0.05..Unless ur tank really almost empty..hehe…
But seriously I just wonder what is the price for Nasi lemak n Teh Tarik this morning…hmm~
Mcm2 barang akan naek~

Which one is the best fuel for you??
I already planned about this topic for a long tyme..Since I already tried most of them, so I want to give some review of it..It is just my opinion..Some people may not agree with this..but its just my 2 cents…hehe
Every fuel company tried their best in marketing their product. Different fuel companies produce different type n efficiency in petrol due to the additives in the oil..So, I’m gonna discuss which one will give you the best performance experience n the best mileage.(this is mainly with RON95)
So, this is my opinion...
1) Esso n Mobil (ExxonMobil) – Mostly, I just use RON95..They come with great performance n best mileage..Let just say it provides me the bez of both world..
2)Caltex – I tried Techron 95 n what can I say about it??superb performance n pickup even the total mileage drop a bit..(myb I press little more due to fun..hehe)
3)Petronas – Before this, I used their RON 97 product n it is really a good product coz of its performance..But the story change when they launched Primax 95, I felt less pick up n engine sound noisier..It just totally so-so only..(but still, I sometimes support local product lor)
4) BHPetrol- Infinity95 is a good product and they claimed they put double additives in fuel(double additives means less fuel rite??JK..hehe)….But in reality,I just can say the feeling of torquey acceleration is still not on par with Exxonmobil…
5) Shell- Very good brand worldwide but the product of Shell Fuelsave95 is not what I expect..I can feel the underpower feeling very much n engine struggle when going uphill..Not to say the worst mileage I ever had..
The brand i choose~
Esso/ Mobil > Caltex > Petronas /BHPetrol> Shell
This is my review from what I see, I heard n I feel from my family’s cars..
